      August 9 at 5:44pm ·  ·
    • Heather Wang Don't worry Erin, I forced a AAA call out of the deal. It took a little encouraging to call for help, but in the end, we needed it. Proudly, my husband changed the tire (with Grandpa's instruction and tutoring) and then found that it was flat! Hence, the call to Les Schwab to bring us in!
      August 10 at 11:35am ·  ·
    • Heather Wang I don't know, Sta'Cee, it depends on how you look at it; I think Andy looks pretty good :) !!

August 10 at 10:56am via Facebook for Android ·  ·

    • Suzanne Hallerman Sorry to hear your journey is giving you trouble. Are you headed east once things are in order? Maybe we can meet at a rest stop. We're working our way west. Safe travels.

    • Theresa Grigory Praying for you!
      August 10 at 11:04am ·  ·

      August 10 at 11:15am ·  ·

    • Theresa Grigory Don't worry--you'll get to Minnesota!
      August 10 at 11:05am ·  ·

Heather Wang Okay, so here's the scoop . . . Mom broke her arm tripping over some "stuff" on the ground as we were packing the trailer. She toughed it out (not knowing it was broken) until AFTER the trailer was all packed and we left to go get some dinner. I took her to Urgent Care where they deemed it was broken, but she couldstill go on the trip and get a cast on in Minnetonka.

August 10 at 11:30am ·  ·

    • Joanne Coloma better get that cast then. The orthopedic surgeon wanted to cast sis' right leg, up to the knee an sis refused so will keep wearing the big black boots for 8 wks an has the wheelchair to get around in.
      August 10 at 9:04pm ·  ·

Heather Wang Cont'd . . . All went well the first day - made it to N. Idaho to spend the night with mom's dear friends, Dianne and Ray. The second day, blew a tire, which delayed us 6 hours of driving time and caused an unexpected night's stay in Missoula Montana (where we're still sitting), because . . .

August 10 at 11:31am ·  ·

    • Sta'Cee Godard Enjoy Missoula! That's where we usually go each summer so visit relatives.
      August 10 at 12:18pm ·  ·

    • Heather Wang would they like some company??
      August 10 at 12:21pm ·  ·

    • Sta'Cee Godard You need to find some river access, so everyone can get their feet wet and splash around.
      August 10 at 12:53pm ·  ·

    • Krica Flaming Heather life is good. All the miss haps just add to the adventure the God is good and faithful. Just keeping on keeping on with a smile only God can give. Ohh the memories your creating.
Love ya and take care of mom she's a special lady.

      August 13 at 1:43am ·  ·

Heather Wang Cont'd . . . on Day 3 of our trip, we discovered the blown tire destroyed all the electrical in the truck and trailer. Once that gets fixed, we'll try to make it to Wyoming tonight . . . Lord willing. Right now, hanging out in hotel room until we hear from Grandpa. What an adventure! We're still smiling! MeiLan does that well!

August 10 at 11:32am ·  ·

    • Deborah Moss LaCroix OH MY GOODNESS !!! Bless you all for laughing through God's treasured moments! I made that trip in June and my girlfriend and I drove there in two and half days from central california. IT IS A HAUL!

      August 10 at 12:35pm ·  ·

    • Lynetta Smith Oh, Heather! What a trip! I'm so sorry to hear it's not been smooth. I love your attitude, though...what a trouper! My Dad lives in Buffalo, WY (on I-90 right before Gillette), so if there's any way he can help, please call me and I'll try and connect you. (He is mechanically inclined and knows literally everyone in town.)
      August 10 at 1:11pm ·  ·

    • Teri Card Oh the stories you are going to be able to tell! We have some great ones from our many road trips to and from S Dakota! the kids love getting in on it to...."remember the year the radiatior died in Yellowstone?" Yup, good memories!

Heather Wang Made it to Wyoming! After yesterday, it seemed rather uneventful! Just long.

August 11 at 1:56am via Facebook for Android ·  ·

    • Heather Beck yeah wyoming is uneventful. there is a whole lot of nothing out there!
      August 11 at 2:11am ·  ·

    • Glenn Culbertson Heather, I suggest you might want to open your eyes to the beauty of that state! the canyons, the red rocks, the rivers, the mountains. Not a lot of people or cities, true. But tremendous beauty of God.

    • Angie Jansen What are you doing in Wyoming? I'm getting ready to move there next month
      August 11 at 9:21am ·  ·

    • Wendy Reiff Martin Glad you're making it across the country little by little! Hope the rest of your trip is less eventful!
      August 11 at 12:01pm ·  ·

    • Heather Wang
Just to clarify: by "uneventful" I meant no tires falling off or any other catastrophes. We spent most of the night hours traveling through to our next destination, so unfortunately, we didn't get to see much of anything.

Heather Wang We are in S Dakota now! Day 4 ended without interruption!

    • Heather Wang What's funny here, is that we had to sail past Mt. Rushmore to make up for lost time with the flat fiasco - but we found this replica in Wall Drug! "Here kids . . . Here's Mt. Rushmore!!"
